This page explains what this site stores on your device and why.

## What this site stores

**A theme preference.** When you use the light/dark toggle, the site
remembers your choice two ways:

- A `mg-theme` cookie (shared with [magma-maths.org](https://magma-maths.org/),
so the preference carries over between the two sites), and

- `localStorage` entries on this site.

**Sidebar and table-of-contents state.** Whether you’ve collapsed the
left navigation sidebar or the right “on this page” panel is remembered
in `localStorage`, so it stays collapsed on your next visit.

Nothing above is set until you actually interact with the relevant
control (toggling the theme, collapsing a sidebar) — none of it is set
automatically just by loading a page.

## What this site does not do

- No analytics or tracking cookies.

- No advertising or third-party embeds.

- No accounts, logins, or forms that collect personal information.

- No cross-site tracking of any kind.

This site is verified with [Google Search
Console](https://search.google.com/search-console), which confirms
ownership via a `<meta>` tag in the page rather than a cookie or script,
and does not itself store anything on your device.

## Managing this

All of the above is stored locally on your own device, not on our
servers. You can clear it at any time through your browser’s site data
or cookie settings — the site will simply fall back to its default
appearance.
