# Magma V2.14-8 Patch Notes

## Codes

- Computation of automorphisms of a binary code and isomorphism between binary codes has been returned to the algorithm used in V2.9 and earlier. This corrects a problem introduced in V2.10 which considerably slowed down some of these computations.

## Groups

- Modified construction of compact presentations for pc-groups to speed up both making presentation and reconstructing the group.
- Fixed bug in `UnlabelledCayleyGraph` of finitely presented group.

## Language

- A crash in functions with variable numbers of arguments has been fixed.

## Number Fields

- A bug with [`TraceMatrix`](../GlobalFields/NumberFieldsAndOrders/operation.md#function-tracematrix-rngord) when applied to number fields defined using non-monic polynomials has been fixed. Without this fix, the trace matrix would be wrong (lacking denominators) and would induce wrong results in all further trace computations.
- A bug in the computation of common overworlds has been fixed. Without this fix, Magma would case internal errors.
- A bug in the computation of [`AbsoluteLogarithmicHeight`](../GlobalFields/NumberFieldsAndOrders/operation-element.md#function-absolutelogarithmicheight-fldalgelt) when the number field was defined by a non-monic polynomial has been fixed.

## Polynomials

- Problems with polynomials over residue class rings have been fixed. Reported by M. Kiermaier.
- A bug in polynomial factorization over trivial quotient rings has been fixed. Reported by J. Marhenke.
