# Magma V2.12-12 Patch Notes

## Finite Fields

- A bug in finite field extensions (related to the function `Completion` in function fields) has been fixed (reported by L. Pecquet).

## Integer Ring

- A bug in [`SQUFOF`](../BasicRings/Integers/factor.md#function-squfof-rngintelt) on some processor types has been fixed.

## Matrices

- A bug in determinant over finite fields has been fixed (thus fixing crash in determinant over the integers and `ClassGroup`).

## Number Fields

- A bug in the handling of infinite places in the Chinese Remainder Theorem has been fixed. This bug would consistently produce wrong results in `Rayclassgroup` computations involving infinite places.
- A bug in the handling of ext over the rational numbers gave internal errors when trying to extend Q by a sequence of rational or integral numbers.

## Polynomial Rings

- A bug in factorization over polynomial quotient rings over finite fields has been fixed (reported by D. Schmidt).
- A bug in the sparse `GCD` algorithm has been fixed.
