# Magma V2.10-12 Patch Notes

## Finite Planes

- A bug in the isomorphism test for planes which caused it to hang at times has been fixed.

## Groups

- A bug in choosing base points for a degree 1 matrix group over a finite field has been fixed. Reported by Eamonn O’Brien.
- A bug in the graphics code for $PSL(2,\mathbb{Z})$ has been fixed. Reported by Philippe Elbaz-Vincent.

## Linear Algebra

- `HorizontalJoin`, `VerticalJoin` and `DiagonalJoin` for sequences and tuples of matrices has been greatly improved.
- A serious inefficiency in `DirectSum` for a sequence of matrix rings has been removed as a consequence of the above change. Reported by Derek Holt.

## Linear Codes

- A bug in the isomorphism test for linear codes which could have resulted in a crash has been fixed. Reported by J. G. Maks.

## Rings and Fields

- A molten bug that occurred in infinite extension function fields (eg. function fields arising from curves or rational function fields) when trying to compute the polynomial underlying a place has been fixed.
- Maps between a cyclotomic field and its vector space over a subfield have been rewritten.
- A bug in the intrinsic `AbsoluteField` caused certain examples not to terminate.
